New Matter is a celebration of art, writing and music which has been created in response to a short story written by Sheffield Masters student, Lorna Festa. 'Deja vous' is an emotional and contemporary piece which has formed excitement around the author's name and anticipation for her recently completed novel 'Killer and the Crooks'. 'Deja Vous' has acted as a catalyst for London and Sheffield based artists who have created an original work for the purpose of this exhibition. New Matter consists of undergraduates, postgraduates and professionals honouring a range of disciplines and interests.
The exhibition includes readings, painting, video and performance which invites fierce opinion. By providing an experience that appeals to all Creative outlooks, Artists are conveying their bold, contemporary culture: New Matter is a festival of artistic indulgences.
